Anti-American and anti-Israel groups are conducting
a concerted drive to win the hearts and minds of university students
across the United States, with the Divest from Israel campaign as
their centerpiece. The challenge is compounded by imbalanced media
coverage of the ongoing violence against Israel and a blame
America and Israel first mindset. Committed supporters of
Israel -- Jewish and non-Jewish alike are often hard pressed
to respond effectively. Less committed and less knowledgeable students
are at best confused and at worst convinced by the hostile rhetoric
and terror apologia.
Meeting the Challenge
Caravan
for Democracy was launched in March 2002 to empower Jewish students
and galvanize pro-Israel activism at universities across the nation.
A joint Jewish National Fund, Media Watch International, Hamagshimim
initiative, Caravan
for Democracy has seen tremendous success countering the onslaught
and fostering proactive, pro-Israel, anti-terror initiatives on tens
of campuses each semester.
Caravan
for Democracy works hand-in-glove with existing Jewish and pro-Israel
campus organizations to ensure the success of each event. This powerful
synergy is helping to grow a dynamic cadre of independent, self-starting
Jewish campus leaders.
Toward the future
Caravan for Democracy is catalyzing and revitalizing pro-Israel
activity on campuses across America, by inspiring and empowering
pro-Israel students and faculty. Caravan
for Democracy speakers have addressed over 10,000 students and
400 professors on 70 campuses.
